Deniz Gursul wrote a thought provoking essay on how brain imaging can help humanity.

The Oliver Prize is awarded for an outstanding essay or written piece produced by a St Cross student with a preference for a topic relating to a subject benefitting humanity in an innovative way, and is an award of £500.
The Prize is intended for an essay which may be on a subject either outside applicants' academic work or based around a short piece of work submitted for academic study at Oxford with a maximum of 5,000 words.
