DPhil Student
Miranda Buckle joined the Paediatric Neuroimaging group in the Department of Paediatrics as a DPhil student (St Cross College) in 2017. Her supervisors are Dr Rebeccah Slater, Dr Caroline Hartley, and Mr C K Patel.
Miranda is interested in characterising the infant response to noxious clinically indicated procedures such as retinopathy of prematurity screening and treatment.
Little is known about the effect of a prolonged painful procedure on brain activity and physiology in the infant population. Understanding the changes that occur during complex noxious procedures, and the time taken to recover, may inform clinical care and lead to improvements in infant pain control.
Miranda is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, having studied Medicine at St John's College, Cambridge.
Miranda is funded by the St Cross College, Oxford and the Medical Research Council.
