It is very important that pain management strategies for babies are carefully investigated in clinical trials. One of the problems in conducting such trials is that it is difficult to assess pain in babies. To overcome this, we are developing an EEG tool that can be used in clinical trials. Through the International Neonatal Consortium (INC) we are working with an international group of scientists, clinicians, parents, industry partners and regulatory bodies to understand how to best use our tool to improve the care for babies world-wide.
