My Baby's Brain
An animation series explaining infant brain and breathing development
When a baby is born their brain and lungs are still developing. This is especially the case when babies are born prematurely. This can lead to apnoea (a pause in breathing). Click on the animations to find out more about babies' brain and lung development, and how apnoea is treated. These versions contain subtitles and are bite-sized. If you would like to watch versions without subtitles, please click here. If you would like to watch a longer version (about 6 minutes) please click here.
The animations were developed by the Paediatric Neuroimaging Group at the Department of Paediatrics, in collaboration with SSNAP, a charity Supporting Sick Newborns And their Parents. We would like to thank the parents who took part in the focus group to create these animations. Click here for our Parent Top Tips. We would also like to thank Oxford Digital Media for producing the animations.
